1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit this website (saintlife.dev), how it is used, and your rights in relation to it. This site is a personal portfolio operated by Jonathan Kariuki.

This site does not use advertising, tracking cookies or cross-site tracking. It uses cookie-free, anonymous visitor counts (Vercel Web Analytics) to see which pages are read. Personal information is limited to what is strictly necessary to respond to direct contact.

2. Information Collected

This site collects the following categories of personal data:

• Contact form — when you submit the enquiry form, the details you enter (name, email address, project type, timeline and project description) are sent to Formspree, which delivers them to me by email. See Formspree's Privacy Policy.
• Contact information — when you email via the contact links on this site, your email address and the content of your message are received. This is standard email communication and occurs outside this website (via your email client).
• Server logs — the hosting provider (Vercel) may automatically log standard request data including IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of visit. This is handled by Vercel under their own Privacy Policy.

3. How Information Is Used

Contact information you provide is used solely to:

• Respond to your enquiry or message
• Follow up on project discussions or proposals

It is never sold, shared with third parties beyond the service providers listed in section 5, or used for unsolicited marketing.

4. Cookies & Tracking

This site uses a single item of localStorage (not a cookie) to remember your dark/light theme preference across visits. This value (theme) stays on your device and is never transmitted to any server. The animated background also keeps its position in sessionStorage (sky-state) so it continues smoothly between pages; this is cleared when you close the tab and is never transmitted. No cookies, advertising pixels or cross-site trackers are used. Anonymous page-view counts are collected by Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.

5. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services are used and may process limited data as part of normal page loading:

• Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log the request including your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Formspree — processes enquiry form submissions and forwards them by email. Submissions are stored in Formspree's dashboard under their Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — this site is hosted on Vercel. Server-side logs are governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel Web Analytics — counts page views anonymously, without cookies. Visitors are not identified or followed across sites. See Vercel's analytics privacy notice.

No other third-party scripts, trackers, or services are loaded by this site.

6. Data Retention

Emails received are retained only as long as necessary to complete the relevant conversation or project engagement. Messages are managed manually via a standard email inbox. Form submissions are also held in Formspree's dashboard and are deleted there once the conversation or engagement has ended.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data held about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact:
